Wow! This trails offers so much in such a short (but steep) hike.

We arrived at the trailhead at 5:15pm. There were no spots in the main lot, but we were able to find parking in the overflow lot .25 miles from the trailhead. The road from the temporary visitor center to the parking is narrow but still two lanes. If you need to walk along the road, be sure to take the well-maintained trails on the side of the road and avoid walking the road.

From the trailhead, the trail ascends and doesn't let up to the peak. The view along the trail was amazing with tons of wildlife (ptarmigan, marmot, deer), wide-open vistas, and amazing cloud shows.

It was a beautiful day and a busy trail, but we still managed to find some solitude by taking some social trails to the right of the summit. This trail is well worth the effort!

Stats: 4.38 miles; 922 ft elevation gain; 1 hour 37 mins; 3.4 mph average moving speed.
