The Enchantments — Saturday, Sep. 13, 2025

What a trip and where to start on this amazing trail. There was two of us which had a car left at snow lakes trail head by 3AM and was on foot with another vehicle parked at eight mile trail head by 3:50AM WE got to Colchuck lake and went to the right and up to Aasgard Pass in under 5hrs. Do not underestimate Aasgard Pass this part can make or break most hikers. Once to the top you get to understand all the research and why you ended up here! Goats and lakes with such jaw dropping landscapes it will keep you wanting more throughout your stay in the Core Zone! We used Gaia Gps for navigation and many well marked cairns well. Once passed Temple lake it becomes a serious drop in elevation and wow it is fun and a burner with a great PNW forest hike down hill to snow lakes and Dixy lake. From the last lakes its a slow steady drop to the parking lot where you will be so Thankful its over and can plan the next one.
