Lake Sacajawea — Monday, Oct. 27, 2025

Absolutely beautiful fall color on the lake and so worth the detour from i5! We found ample parking available street side around the lake on a Monday afternoon. No bathrooms that we saw but we did not do the full loop. The trail is wide and level, just watch for geese and geese poop.

The colors are beautiful everywhere but definitely peaked in the Japanese garden which is situated on an island in the lake. The island does not allow dogs (we took turns), and closes at 3:30pm (we barely made it). The rest of the park is dog friendly and they will be thrilled with all the geese, ducks, and squirrels.
