Suntop Lookout — Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025

Took the family out to see if we could access Suntop from the shorter summer route. We were pleasantly surprised to see that we could!

The road right off of hwy 410 is pretty rough and requires some slow maneuvering over some large potholes. Once you get past that stretch and turn left it becomes way better.

Trail is in great condition, however it is evident that some dirt bikes have been using the trail that prohibits motorized vehicles. The toilet at the top is open but it out of toilet paper. While we didn’t get to see Rainier from the lookout, we were very lucky to get some blue sky and some beautiful views of other mountains. We were also lucky to see a handful of pikas, several grouse, and lots of deer tracks.

Overall, a perfect adventure!
