Headed to Heart O' the Hills for a final camping trip to enjoy the last few days of sunshine. The Port Angeles Visitor Center is closed during the government shutdown (including the restrooms), and the road to Hurricane Ridge is closed just after Heart O' the Hills Campground. Fortunately, the campground and Heart O' the Forest Trail are open. (So are the restrooms at the campground.) The trail is in good shape, too; no significant blowdowns or other obstacles.
Currently the fungi are the highlight of this trail; there are tons of cool mushrooms. Some funky colors, too!
