It was a beautiful day at Mount Rainier.
They were saying that the gate to Paradise would not open till 11:00 so, I hiked Rampart Ridge to the mountain view while waiting for it to open. On my way out of Longmire there was a Pine Squirrel eating a cone. There was one tree over the trail. It was easy to get around. The Rampart Ridge Trail was snow free till the place where the mountain can be seen was reached. Returned the way I came. On the way down There was a buck and a couple does in the trees. Only saw 5 other people on this trail. It is a good work out and nice walk in the woods.
