Summary: Arrived to the parking lot and parked alongside road at 10am. Well compacted boot path for first mile, intermittent post-holing up to mile 1.5 mile and put on snowshoes. Turned around a little after two miles. About half of the folks had off leash well behaved dogs.
Pass: winter sno-park pass ($55 for season or $25 day). North Bend Chevron has them for sale. Otherwise choose your closest venue.
Distance: Nice midday snowshoe over 3 hours. Clocked 4.3 miles and 968' elevation. Saw about 20 other throughout the journey.
Obstacles: The biggest obstacle was the incessant tree bombs throughout. Definitely made a point to stay out from under trees as snow thudded around us. No roots present on trail.
Gear: As a winter hiker, I travel with snow shoes, microspikes, and poles with baskets.
