Our first question, why is it called “Two Dollar Trail”? Does anyone know?
Our second question, to the 4 dog owners, why don’t you pick up your dog poop bags? They are all within 1/3 of a mile of the trailhead and waiting for you.
Other than the poop bags, this was a great trail! Starts out steep with some switchbacks and then eases into a rolling trail to the lake. We loved the waterfall, the views, the lake, rocks and chatting with the trail crew! Thanks to WTA trail crew today! Your hard work is appreciated. The only real muddy spots are the trail around Fragrance Lake. We saw plenty of people but didn’t feel crowded. I definitely think this is the better approach to Fragrance Lake compared to starting at the campground. Lots of boardwalks, bridges and benches around the lake. The sun even tried to peak out for us but it was mostly just cloudy and calm. The road was much nicer than when we drove up last in September. Parking along the shoulder has some mud puddles.
