It was 32 degrees as we began our clockwise meander from the large parking area. The restrooms were clean and stocked with paper. There was one vehicle at the TH when we arrived at 1230. A pair of runners passed us twice, but we saw no one else until we were almost back to the parking area where we met a pair of walkers starting their journey. There were 4 easily stepped over trees across the trail and evidence of recent clearing from the atmospheric river event! There was a thin layer of ice on the lake and we saw some hair ice in a few areas. The many frosted areas in the shade added to the beauty of our walk. The only wildlife seen was a Common Goldeneye seen in the first viewpoint of the river. It, or a different one, was seen in the same area on our return!
