View of Wapatis Peak on a frosty morning

I badly needed to get outside despite the gloomy weather so I decided to check out Wahatis Peak. I recently traded in my Camry for a RAV4, which enabled me to drive part of the way up the steep, narrow road as described by another trip reporter. As luck would have it, somebody was driving down while I was driving up, and I had no idea what I could do, as the hill dropped off precipitously on my right. Fortunately, the other guy was able to pull over onto his side just enough to let me squeeze by.

It was a cold day with a bit of haze but no wind, and the tops of the hills were coated in thick hoarfrost -- beautiful! The views were good, despite the haze. Didn't see any wildlife whatsoever.

At the top of the hill among the comm equipment there was a frost-covered sign proclaiming "Farmboy Racing" -- interesting! Behind it in the photo you'll see some frost-covered towers that look vaguely like a ghostly sailing ship.
