After doing my hike on the West Side Taylor River Trail (see my other report) I had some time so decided the check out the CCC Trail that begins off of the Middle Fork Road a little near where the road crosses the two dips at the two big creek crossings. I had tried hiking up this trail a few weeks ago, but the first creek crossing was impassable due to high water and how fast it was moving. When I got up to the area at the first switchback there were several blown down conifer trees to get by either step over or going around. The first creek crossing is now completely dry so I boulder hopped across the creek bed. The second big creek crossing is also now dry but has water coming out of the ground further downstream. The trail through the moss-covered forest is in good shape. Since I had last hiked this trail a few years ago, one of the bridges had been replaced. As I was hiking along a met a woman hiker and her two dogs going the opposite way. We had a nice chat about hiking and dogs. After I went by the Forest Service survey benchmark just off the trail I came to a big blow down area. Many trees had come down in a windstorm and were laying on top of each other blocking the trail. I decided to turn around here instead of climbing over or crawling under the trees. It will take a chainsaw crew to cut them out. George

I'm not familiar with the location of the survey marker you mention as I've never hiked this trail -- about how far in did you encounter the blow down that turned you around? Trying to assess if it's worth trying in the coming days. Thank you!

If you have a copy of Green Trails Map 174SX, Middle Fork Snoqualmie it shows the Benchmark on the map. The blowdown area is about 3/4 mile up the trail as shown on the map as Trail 1264. George
