A maze of trails awaits for snow-showers at Crystal Springs! There are many additional loops and cuts that don't seem to be plotted on available maps around the Crystal Springs area. We easily filled our time around the Erling Stordahl area for 5 hours, covering about 5 miles of trails. We were greeter by trailhead ambassadors who had plenty of hot chocolate. There are sledding hills, and an especially steep one at Erling Stordahl. Plenty of cross-country skiers, snowmobilers, and tomcats were around. The trails themselves are somewhat defined but haven't had a lot of recent traffic.
Snow was covering all of the paths and it got a little slushy in the afternoon. Up and down options are available through the forest, or you can hike along the Palouse to Cascades Trail for a flatter option. The weather was foggy for us, perhaps adding to the illusion of getting lost in a maze.
