This is a nice lowland hike this time of the year and with all the leaves stripped from the trees you can see farther back into the forest revealing more large old growth trees, the mountains and there are better views of the Snow Gulch River from the trail as you get nearer to the mine. Overall the trail is in good condition made soft from the fir needles and leaves. There are sections where there is water running down the trail and a few muddy spots, but that is to be expected this season. All the rivers and creeks are running high and noisy.
The short access road to the trailhead has some large water filled potholes and mud, but any vehicle can make it through.
