Skyline Lake Snowshoe — Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West
The rock garden

On a sunny Thursday, Four of us, senior hikers snowshoed to Skyline Lake. Even with the beautiful weather, the parking lot D was almost empty, the trail was pleasantly quiet, and we encountered only a few other snowshoers and skiers. Fortunately the restrooms at the parking lot were open when we arrived just after 10 a.m.
After about an hour and a half, we reached the antenna tower viewpoint where we paused to take photos and soak in the snowy mountain views. Another thirty minutes brought us to Skyline Lake, the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy lunch.
Following lunch, we set out toward the rock garden. Partway up, Two of us decided to turn back and wait at the lunch spot, while the rest of us continued on. At the rock garden, we enjoyed the sweeping views and took a few more photos before heading back down to rejoin the rest of the party. Due to lack of snow there were a few places in the rock garden that were difficult to navigate. After rejoining, we made our way together back to the parking lot.
It was a scenic and thoroughly enjoyable day of snowshoeing—one we’ll remember fondly.
