P3
There was a couple of inch of fresh snow in the morning starting at 4000ft. It made the route a bit sketchy. I was planning to traverse from P3 to Defiance but dropped that plan when the snow hadn't melted quickly enough. I went back down with microspikes. The snow coverage was treacherous and required lots of caution.
Otherwise the trail is in good condition.
Later in the day, looking from Bandera at the ridge it seemed most had melted but the view from afar doesn't always correspond to the reality of walking there.
It was quite windy on the ridge.
Bandera
A bit more snow on Bandera and the boulders were a bit tricky. Snow wasn't melting above 4600ft. The ascent to 4600ft was starting to be melted out mostly.
I'd bring microspikes and trekking poles if you plan to go up during the next 2 days. No other gear should be needed (no ice axe, no snowshoes).
