Trip Report

Heybrook Lookout — Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

I arrived to the trailhead around 11:30 a.m. on a sunny Sunday to find maybe 3 available parking spots.

The trail was good at most places- a tree down here and there, minor water crossings, and some super soggy muddy spots. I noticed little trash, and most dogs were on leash.

As a slow hiker, it took me about an hour to get to the lookout tower, and about 35 minutes to get down. I saw people of all ages hiking. The tower spot had several groups when I arrived; everyone smiling and friendly, but a few groups were playing music so that took away from the peaceful forest with a view I was hoping for. I arrived to my car around 1:20 to find a completely full lot with a line of cars hoping to get in.
