Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes — Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026

This trail is for you if you like moderate elevation gain, lots to see along the way (valley views and stretches near the creek) and, right now, a winter wonderland at the top.

Trail: in great condition except for some muddy spots. Happy to see that people were walking through the mud (instead of off trail and around), since I've learned this keeps the trail and surrounding landscape in good condition.

Gear: nothing needed except waterproof boots. Poles would have made some of the creek crossings more stable. not enough snow on trail near the top to need microspikes, but they wouldn't hurt.

Bathroom: mostly clean and stocked with TP.
