Started 9am on a windy Sunday morning to half full parking lot. I debated on poles and spikes but was glad to have botth. Past the road at the turnoff trail starts out with some mud puddles and squishy slop, then turns intermittent dirt-ice to snow-ice by the first mile. The rocky ascent to the balcony overlook made me happy to have spikes to navigate the crags and folds of the angled slopes.
Took a very leisurely stroll to enjoy the icicles, snowy mountaintops and a brief clear view at the balcony. 3h total.
Lightly traveled today ; passed maybe 15 people on our way up and down.
