We arrived around 8:45 at the Lost Lake TH. Only one other car in the lot. Ranger station was open so we popped in before we began our hike. We had planned on going up to Burnout Knob for a view but it was overcast and the ranger said it wasn't as good a view as it used to be. So we changed our route and took the connector trail to the Fragrance Lake trail. It was windy at the lake, so we didn't hang around too long. From there we headed to the South Lost Lake trail to East Lost Lake and stopped for lunch. Most of the trails were in fairly good condition, but there were some very muddy areas on the way to Lost Lake. It was hard to get a good vantage point for a photo of the lake. We headed back via the Rock Trail, Double Black Diamond and Fragrance Lake Trail. Our route gave us a variety of terrain that had gentle old logging roads, moderate forested trails, steeper multi-user trails, and a lot of steps on the rock trail.
We saw very few hikers and only one cyclist as we were heading back. GPS logged 10-1/2 miles.
Back to the TH at 2:30 and the ranger station was closed. Loos were in good condition and had TP and hand sanitizer.
