We had a few hours to spend before heading to the NWAC basketball championships so we decided to find a local hike and this one was perfect. The trail is wide and well done, very easy to follow. It’s a very gradual ascent up to the summit. The parking lot had quite a few cars in it but the trail never felt crowded. There’s a clean porta potty in the parking lot. There are no wildflowers yet but it looks like this could be a pretty trail in wildflower season. Lots of out of season balsamroot plants. The views at the top are of the surrounding communities and very pretty. We also got views of Mt. Adams through the occasional clouds. All in all we really enjoyed our hike.
