Trip Report

Skagit Wildlife Area — Tuesday, Mar. 10, 2026

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area

We have reservations at Bayview SP for 5 nights. On our way from our home in South Seattle we took the Conway Exit off of I-5 and Fir Island Road which is our usual route to the park. We  stopped at Hayton Reserve where it was low tide and very windy with very few ducks seen. We did see 3 killdeer near the beginning of the entrance road. As we crossed the North Fork Skagit River we noticed a flock of snow geese in the distance  so we made a U-turn and returned to the Moore Road where we saw thousands of snow geese. After enjoying their sounds and flights, we continued to Bayview SP to register. Along the way we saw a few fields of beautiful daffodils.
