There's a good trip report from 8/16, so I'll just update a few things.
- the rock in the road has been moved. The road is rough but any passenger car should make it up just fine.
- I didn't see a blow-down on the trail, that must have been quickly cleared
- bugs are back - why so late, flies? There were huge bee-like horseflies doing laps around our heads the entire way, plus some smaller deer flies that got a couple successful bites in. We were wishing we had brought our light-weight long-sleeved shirts and pants, it would have made the hike much more comforable.
- flowers are all gone now, just a lot of lush green meadows left
- berries are peaking, with a lot to eat but some starting to be past their prime
- we were hoping for very clear skies since it rained on Saturday, but the wildfires are taking their toll and it was hazy to the north, east and west. Views south towards Mt Baker were more clear.
This is a great hike! Takes nearly 3 hours to drive up from Seattle but it's worth it.
