Trip Report
Lord Hill Regional Park — Sunday, May. 9, 2010
Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Close in location and easy to walk, Lord Hill is lovely hike. We took four children and three adults and had no problems with safety. There was a lot of mud in spots but as the kids said: "That makes it fun!".
The river is up high so there is a narrow beach perfect for skipping stones. The dead-ended River Walk Trail is FULL of high stinging nettle so I would really recommend pants through there. Every member of our group brushed at least once against the nettles.
At our slow pace it took 3.5 hours to walk the Beaver Trail loop, down the Pipeline Trail, loop the River Walk (with the dead-end view point) and travel back up the Main Trail. A good mixture of shade and sunny areas.
