Sauer's Mountain — Friday, Apr. 26, 2013

Central Cascades > Leavenworth Area
First viewpoint and what a view!
It was a perfect day to escape the rain in western WA and introduce Anne to this great spring hike. We had flowers galore and plenty of sun; not just balsam root, but Spring Beauty, Glacier Lilies, Indian Paintbrush, Lupine and more. Plenty of people on the trail yet it wasn't crowded since everyone was pretty spread out. As I told Anne, it's steepest at the beginning and the end. We powered up to the viewpoint and then ran the ridge to the false summit and beyond where we could laugh at the clouds "to the west."
Did I mention great flowers?
Flowers and views!
