Trip Report
Kachess Ridge / Kachess Beacon — Sunday, Sep. 28, 2014
Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
The directions are not site right: after turning off I 90 and turning left on frontage street, you turn right on KECHESS DAM RD, not Kachess Ridge. And the sign for FR4818 is not visible before the turn. Then you drive only about .8 miles before the last turn, which is on to a very narrow, unmarked road.
Also, we enjoyed the hike, but it is very steep and the upper half of the trail is on loose shale gravel -- two of us had small falls on the way down. I would give this a 4 on the difficulty scale, though it was actually unrelentingly steeper than any other 4 level we have ever hiked.
Still, it was fun, and we only saw one other person! Since it is not forest service property there is no sign requiring dogs to be on leash.
