Larrabee State Park - Rock Trail — Monday, Nov. 10, 2014

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Trail hugs right up to the sandstone wall.
After seeing the article the Seattle Times recently did about this hike, I had to check it out. Very nicely done. And the hike back up really didn't seem so bad as there is so much to look at. The sandstone steals the show, and is wonderfully lit up right now when the sun shines through the leafless trees. There are a lot of different ferns seemingly everywhere. The trail also has some nice fungus along the way. The trail was in very good shape even with the recent rain. If you proceed to Lost Lake from this trail, be ready for a lot more mud.
Confused Bleeding Heart.
So many ferns!
