Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal

The trail is in good shape after the wind, just a few branches down. The road has several trees across it though. I'm surprised that folks don't bend over and throw fallen branches off the trail, it takes so little effort. I was glad to see that the gate was closed. This is a hike that one can easily ride a but to get too. Jefferson Transit has a but stop right at Walker Mountain Antiques and another at Rockybrook road. The time in between runs is perfect for a leisurely stroll up the mountain and an hour lunch break. You can even get there from Shelton using Mason transit and then transferring to Jefferson Transit at the Brinnon Store. I'm saving so much money by taking the buses.
