Trip Report

Alger Alp (South Route) — Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Cliff-top view overlooking Skagit Valley.
Decided late afternoon to do this hike with partner and the dog. Drove by the trail head at first--it looks like a blocked forest road, which is indeed what the trail actually is/follows. Certainly a good workout, and the view was decent. We were a little bit slow lingering at the top (the view, as a previous reporter stated, does include I-5 but makes up for it with a nice vista out to the San Juans) and ended up walking down in dusk/dark. Might be a good one to use for warming up early in the season, but not one that will draw many back to it other than for the exercise.
