Trail is in good condition for what it is. I only had to climb over or under or walk around about 4 trees. One big old growth doug-fir is about 1/2 mile up the trail and wants some attention. Snow started near the pond of the false prophet. Trail was impossible to follow just below the lake. I almost turned back just 100 feet below the lake in elevation. Then when my GPS told me that I was just 100 feet below I knew I had to go for it. It was cold and windy at the lake, lake is melted out near the outlet. There is bare ground around the lake. It felt very strange to be there in February. Pictures here: http://mosswalks.blogspot.com/2015/02/lake-of-angels-on-putvin-putven-trail.html It took me 7.5 hours to do this hike with a half hour lunch break and no other breaks.
