This is a PRIVATE TRAIL for the first 1/2 mile or so, but the property owners are very friendly and welcoming. The sign at the trailhead informs you that the trail is closed October 21-March 21, but the nice man who owns the property informed me it was ok to use the trail as long as the weather holds. NO snow= NO trail closure! Be respectful of the trail head and the rules so that we can continue to use this beautiful access point.
The trail was slightly overgrown from lack of use the past few months, but otherwise the hike was beautiful! There was also a fallen tree in the second mile, but its possible to climb over it. The day was sunny and mid sixties. I hiked with just a T-shirt and came home quite sweaty. Small snow patches remain at the top in the shady places, but they are melting and easy to cross.
There was a deer playing peek-a-boo with me for a bit along the top ridge, so keep quiet and you might get to view the wildlife too! Enjoy :)
