Talus Loop — Thursday, Apr. 30, 2015

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
View from the rock pile. By: P. Motschenbacher
Hiked the Talus loop on Thursday April 30th. The weather was delightful and so were the views from the rock pile on the upper end of the Talus Loop. We only saw one other couple on the actual "loop" part of the hike. The main trail was fairly busy as usual. Everyone we ran into seemed in good spirits. The Talus Loop is not quite as well maintained as the main trail. At times, I needed to pay more careful attention to where I was stepping than I might normally. Some parts of the trail stretch along steep cliffs and the trail becomes noticeably narrow. I found that I wasn't able to zone out quite like I do when I hike the main trail. We saw a Puget Sound Garter Snake. That was neat. Apparently there is another trail that connects to the Talus Loop that leads to Mt. Teneriffe. We hope to go back and explore it in the near future.
