Koppen Mountain — Saturday, May. 2, 2015

Snoqualmie Region > Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
Mt. Stuart to the south and the ridge I ascended. Stay in the woods to avoid the snow and exposure.
Approached from the De Roux campground. Trail was largely snow-free until right below the pass that goes left to Koppen Mt. or right and down to De Roux Mt. It was easy to bypass the snow here. Once on the ridge to Koppen, it was possible to bypass almost all of the snow by staying just off the ridgetop to the south. Even places where I lost the trail and had to go through the brush, the brush was very thin and easily passed through. The summit block was snow free. An absolutely beautiful summit on a perfect day.
The south ridge.
Did I mention it was a beautiful day?
