The Labyrinth at Hall Hill Park — Saturday, May. 23, 2015

Internet photo of the mosaic labyrinth: homage to sea stars and much more.
Painter/printer/weaver, Gillian Bull highly recommended that we hike The Labyrinth before leaving Bainbridge Island. We knew this was good advice or sheer Scottish trickery. Finding this amazing mosaic trail is also an adventure. I don't want to say too much about how to get there or I'd spoil the fun. For example, we made a few false stops but enjoyed the history, views, and even witnessed a proposal of marriage near the shoreline (a plethora of flowers and wine on a bench nearby and an entourage streaming up from the sea). Head SE on Harbor Drive and try to find Hall Hill Rd. Near the 90 degree turn look for a trail head kiosk and small turnout for parking on the water's side of the road. Do not cheat: walk the path, say your prayers, and make an offering. Last month a loved one of mine left Arizona and his home of 30 years; at the heart of this labyrinth rests that house key, a key to family, love, longevity, and desert memories. You never know what you'll discover inside and out on this hike.
