Snowgrass Flat, Goat Ridge & Goat Lake — Saturday, Jul. 18, 2015

South Cascades > Goat Rocks
We did the Snowgrass Flat/Goat Lake loop via Trail #96 & #95. It took us 4 hours to get to camp at Goat Lake and 3 hours to return to the Berry Patch trailhead the next day. Such a gorgeous hike! Although the weather was hot, the tree cover made it perfect. Throughout this hike we caught glimpses of Adams, St. Helens, the very tip of Hood, and Rainier. The wildflowers are about done, but still very pretty. While at camp we viewed mountain goats, elk, deer, and marmot. The bugs were very annoying on the way up, via Snowgrass Flat #96. Our bug spray seemed to deter their landing on us but not the constant buzzing fly-bys.
