We hiked up trail 1390 to Headlight Basin and made camp on Saturday, July 18th. It's a steady uphill climb to the basin but not too demanding. The hike in was beautiful. The trail is in great shape albeit dusty. Not a cloud in sight. We saw some very friendly goats and lots of other hikers (mostly day hikers). After settling into our camp, we hiked up to Lake Ingalls. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world! There were about 20 people lounging on the shores or swimming. A few goats wandered the shores and the surrounding rock cliffs. We spent about an hour wandering this beautiful lake basin. Our overnight stay was perfect. This is a hike almost anyone can experience.
