Escure Ranch - Towell Falls — Friday, Mar. 11, 2016

I was probably the only visitor at Escure Ranch/Towell Falls on Friday. At the falls I was curious why the trail was clearly marked to force hikers to get their feet wet by wading across the small branch creek on the way to the main falls. Then I realized how much higher the water level is this time of year. Previous trail reports describe how you can wade across the main, larger channel in summer. The upper, smaller falls are more accessible and probably prettier, anyway. Walking back following cattle trails on the other side of the bluff, closer to the river, was an interesting diversion from the dirt road. Saw a coyote.
