Trip Report

Duckabush River — Sunday, Mar. 27, 2016

Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal
We rambled up Big Hump with brief stops at Snack and Lunch Rocks. There are a few logs on the trail that are of no consequence to even unmotivated hikers. Wildflowers are appearing on the south facing, fire cleared slopes of Big Hump. Strawberries, viburnum, and Johnny Jump Ups are profuse. Fawn Lilies are abundant in their usual haunts, but most are at the stage of nodding flower buds that have not yet opened. Chocolate Lilies are blooming at the trails edge not far before Snack Rock.

Nice flowers!

I'm surprised they're out already! Excited for some lower elevation hikes now :).
