Padilla Bay — Saturday, Apr. 30, 2016

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Padilla Bay
After a cool damp hike to Lake 22 on Friday today was the opposite. Sunshine, sunshine and tidal flats. Love hiking contrasts like that. The trail is flat and very well maintained. This is a very easy hike and I probably should have added 5 lbs to my pack. The scenery is stunning on a sunny day. The tide was out and I really enjoyed the views. No bugs just lots of happy hikers, bikers, walkers, runners, strollers and kids. Several wildflowers lined the path. The trail was clean with no litter and lots of interesting things to see like old building, islands and flowers. A really great place for a stroll along the beach. Very glad I did this one finally. We stopped for dinner at Chuckanut Maner. The mussels were great! We then took the long road home along Chuckanut drive. I had forgotten what a great drive that is. I recommend it. We spotted several more hikes along the way also. It's now on my list to return and explore the area deeper. Enjoy!
