Puget Sound and Islands > San Juan Islands
We wandered along the headlands and cliffs, ( the longest public beach access on Lopez) along the bluff trail which hugs the cliffs. The white moss gardens, grassy meadows, rocks, and contorted trees are all beautiful. The area is large enough, and doesn't get a lot of hikers, so any other people are usually seen from a distance. a few small patches of cactus almost ready to bloom.... Views to the Olympics, and Vancouver Island. A peaceful spot to catch a sunset, mesmerized by the ribbon of light dancing across the water Kids love this trail.... its short... and has room to wander... salmon berries are ripe along the trail in... seals play along the shoreline... there is a warning light on the rocks at the point...... and small rocky beaches...
