Trip Report
Discovery Park Loop Trail — Friday, May. 20, 2016
Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Trail is in great condition and with all of the rain this week it's very good. We didn't need boots as running shoes were more than enough. Lots of folks running and walking.
Highly recommend parking in the south lot since it's accessible right to the trail. We travelled west to east and seemed we were the only ones going in that direction as everyone we came across was in the opposite direction. At the end of the loop we figured out why since it's a steady uphill climb right at the end, so if you want the great feeling of accomplishment go west to east as the other way is much easier.
We did see woodpeckers and lots of robins along the way, so if you love to bird watch in the city it's a nice respite.
