Trip Report

Alger Alp (South Route) — Sunday, May. 29, 2016

Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
View from top
Have hiked this several times over past few years; foliage on side of trail continues to look like it has been sprayed. Pacific blackberry vines seem to mainly be dead. Himalayan is sturdier but even some of these plants are looking rough. In general the foliage is a little saddening; with this being an old logging road, this has never been a completely bucolic experience, but it used to be much lusher with healthier vegetation. It is still a nice workout with a good view at the top, and even on a holiday weekend, it was not too busy.
