Trip Report

Umtanum Creek Canyon — Wednesday, May. 25, 2016

Central Washington > Yakima
Trail head was very well established with good signage and a large parking lot. For those without a Discover pass they are able to park nearby on the street. Trail starts with going over a suspension bridge over the Yakima River. With multiple differing trails and smaller trails it is easy to get confused but all trails about a mile in conjoin. The main thing to keep in mind is to stay on the left side of the creek since the trail on the right side of the creek will be more difficult and either force you to cross the creek or go up and around some rocky terrain. This hike is relatively flat and simple with vegetation throughout it is an enjoyable day hike.
