Umtanum Creek Canyon — Thursday, Jun. 23, 2016

Central Washington > Yakima

Hiked in about 3 miles, found a nice site near the creek. Beautiful canyon with lovely groves of trees and areas of tall grass. Heard rattlers and saw other types of snakes. Look for beaver dams. Variety of raptors overhead. Heard some persistent cat-like sounds at dawn. Beautiful easy hike/backpack. Low traffic mid-week. Nice area for photographers. No ticks!
