Dock Butte — Saturday, Jul. 2, 2016

North Cascades > Mount Baker Area
We did this great hike today. Had the trail almost entirely to ourselves (arrived at TH at 9:10am). The trail is wet in spots with running water from snow melt. It is steep and we took a short snack break and at a conveniently placed log. Wonderful views when the clouds parted. Not sure we made it quite to the top - there is snow on most of the trail for last .25 miles (approx.) and we followed foot prints to the field with the jagged rocks and had lunch there. Stunning views to accompany lunch. Hiked over to Blue Lake on the way down and encountered many groups on that trail. Bugs were quite annoying the entire hike. All and all we really enjoyed this hike.
