Heather Lake — Sunday, Jul. 31, 2016

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
Hiked to Heather Lake today. It was a perfect day for a hike. We arrived at the trail head around 10am and started our trek to the lake. The trail was very interesting. It starts out nice and easy, but the further you get in in gets a little rocky and there are a ton of exposed roots. It definitely needs some love, but made for a fun hike and it wasn't as busy as I thought it was going to be after reading the description. We arrived at the lake around 11:45-12. The skies started out gray, but by the time we got to the lake, they opened up nicely and we got some gorgeous blue skies. The bugs at the lake weren't too bad either. The views of and around the lake were incredible! Also spotted a three headed dog on the trail. so keep and eye out.
The three-headed dog. Very vicious. spotted on his observation rock.
