Southwest Washington > Columbia River Gorge - WA
Excellent hike with rewarding views the entire way, and a waterfall to cool off in about 2/3 of the way through! Only issue was rocky areas, where hiking poles would have come in handy. Bring sturdy boots with good ankle support, but it's do-able! There are good signs most of the way. When you get to a paved road, you turn to the left and walk about a mile up the road before re-connecting with the trail, passing back under the highway, and making it back to the parking lot. Highly recommend this one for those looking for a moderate climb and great views!
Lots of rocky switchbacks toward the end of the trail. Hiking poles would be helpful here!
