Trip Report
Talus Rock Trail, West Tiger 3 & Nook Trail — Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016

It looks like the snow atop Tiger Mountain has pushed the WTA crews down from working near the railroad grade to working on some of the lower trails, the Talus Rock trail in particular. The attention is welcome and appreciated as this is a popular trail with families and dog walkers. There is evidence of extensive drainage work, tread repair and clearing of obstacles. Much appreciated for when there is no time for a trip to the mountains for snowplay, yet a few miles and 700 feet of elevation gain is welcome way to spend a few hours in the outdoors. If you are going farther, plan on running into snow starting at about 2,000 feet. The only minor downer is that the road to the Tradition Plateau trailhead has a few cratered spots that require a bit of careful navigation! Noting unusual for this time of year. Thanks DNR and Trail workers!

Does anyone know the mileage around if you take Nook, to Talus, and then down West Tiger 3?

It's about 2.8 miles round trip from the parking lot.
