Beautiful winter yay day on the mountain. Trail is in great shape. Spikes are not needed but recommended as the trail is very icy. I used my micro spikes from the 0.7 mile mark where the trail splits. Packed snow covers the trail starting a little bit over a mile although it is a bit icy before that. The trail also wasn't overly crowded either but was still busy. Only the first and most of the second parking lot was full. We started the trail around 9:00am and got back to the car at 2:00pm and hung out on top for probably 20-30 min at most.
Just a side note- We also saw a lot of unprepared hikers. I know 'to each his own' but once at the top, it was about 20 degrees with a nice breeze. Also weather is unpredictable.
All in all an awesome day spent in a gorgeous clear winter wonderland.
