We took a family hike on a beautiful sunny day. The trail is in great condition, with a few muddy spots that weren't too deep. The kids ended up with muddy shoes, but not muddy clothes.
The bleeding hearts are blooming everywhere, and are gorgeous. A number of other small wildflowers are also blooming.
I was fascinated to see that the river has changed courses where the trail dead-ends. There is still a small flow there, but the main course of the river has moved much farther away.
The trailhead has an excellent outhouse, which was in great condition. (Makes things easy when hiking with young kids.)
