We hiked this trail back in March when there were many trees down on the trail. Since then, someone has done a lot of great work on the trail, clearing trees and working on the little stream crossings. This has been one of my favorite early and late season trails, and now it is one of my favorite old dog trails, now that we need to find some easier trails for my elderly dog. The trail along the first river bend has a bit of a scramble down to the sunken trail, but it isn't too bad, and the trail is better there than it was a year ago. Everything was so bright and green, with beautiful early spring flowers in bloom. The hummingbirds were loud all along the trail, and they were especially busy near the beaver ponds. We saw a pair of mergansers in the river. This trail is such a lovely walk!
